My Grandmother's Strange Secret For Perfect Happiness
Some of us never seem to have time to catch our breadth. What with continual work pressure and then home rushing about. It's difficult at the best of times to find time for everything. And then some free time too.
Some people moan about it all. Others take it in their stride. Some people, though as busy as everyone else, seem to have some magic formula to keep them from getting too stressed out. They always seem hectic, yet relaxed at the same time.
Most people, if they pause to ask why it works, will probably discover that it's because the tools. Just like a kitchen really works well if the utensils and implements are good and fit for purpose. In my kitchen a good example - indeed the perfect example - is my knife block set. I got it as a gift from my mother and wow, has it changed my life.
As a kid, I had no real idea what my grandmother meant by this. Sure, gadgets were probably useful for her around the house, I figured. But it only occurred to me years later, that she spent most of her time in the kitchen (as grandmother then used to do). Obviously, a sharp, reliable and trusty kitchen knife set would have indeed been an extremely important set of gadgets to have at hand throughout the day.
The same goes for my office chair. My desk is pretty ordinary. It's big and, I have to admit, always a bit cluttered. I'm sitting there sometimes for hours and my chair is like my best friend. It seems to massage my back when I'm getting uptight. It welcomes me into its loving arms when I sit back after making an important and stressful sale on the phone.
Apart from those there's my car. That's my luxury mobile spa and country club rolled into one. My de-stressing place, where I listen to MY music and MY radio stations. Oh, it also gets me from A to B in style
Back in the kitchen, that's where I go to relax, especially at weekends. What really helps me lose the stress of the working week, are my fit for purpose kitchen gadgets. The most important is my henckels knife set. I don't think the average person realises just how many knives are used daily in the kitchen? Even preparing just one meal. Well my knives are my culinary secret weapon. There is always one the right size for what I doing. And they're always sharp. With their help, even under the pressure of a twelve place dinner party, I can cut it!
