As a person who spends most of her waking time sitting, I found that the Acuvibe Personal Massager is a great complement to my Homedics Shiatsu Back Massager, because it is a handheld spot massager. Human Touch manufactures Chair Massagers as well, but theirs are much more costly, as they are actual cushioned chairs - not just mats. The Acuvibe is designed specifically to work on tender spots, such as the neck and shoulders.

All Homedics models amount with an embedded strapping system, which makes it conveniently and easily bondable to almost any lead. Rather than invest in a very expensive office chair, you can transform almost any chair into an incredible massage chair. On chilly days, I use the heat option to warm-up my muscles before stretching, which I must do several times a day. The heat helps ease muscle tension, while the massage mechanisms help to stimulate circulation. For someone like myself with chronic back and neck pain, I keep my back massager secured to my office chair and turn it on about once every hour and let it run for about 5-10 minutes while I continue to work. When I have pain in a specific spot, such as a stiff neck, I use my Personal Massager to work these places. Therefore, by personal experience, the best advice is to use both of these products in tandem.

Portability is also important to me, so that is another reason why I use these products. I also do some considerable driving, to see my toddler, little tike grandson, which tends to aggravate my conditions. The Acuvibe Personal Massager is powered by integral rechargeable NiCad batteries that run up to 45 minutes on a single charge, though I prefer to charge it after each use, because the complete charging time is approximately 8 hours. Since the Therapist Select series is flexible, I also lay it flat on my bed - a great way to relax myself to sleep. I can lie on either my approve or select and then set the controls for a stentorian or a dapple massage. If you want to be creative, you can wrap the massager around a specific body part - such as your leg, if that is where your body needs attention. The independent controls allow you to turn on and off specific areas of the massager as well as adjust intensity levels. The massager is designed to work your lower back all the way up to your shoulders. As a bonus, at any given time, you can alternate between two massaging styles - either Shiatsu or rolling massage. Even more incredible is that you can adjust the massager dials to conform to your height!

Most working people today hardly have any spare time for themselves, and going to a health spa is not always very convenient or affordable. The cost of both of these products together is approximately equal to 2-3 hour massage at a health spa. Homedics offers a large selection of massager models, which are designed specifically for chairs. They also have a specifically designed rectangular, portable massage mat. Actually, all of their models are portable, soft, and lightweight. However, you must be careful not to accidentally allow the control to slip under the cushion, or you risk it melting.
