My neck's been feeling kinked the last 3-4 days and I can't see a chiropractor. What else can I do?

My wife's given my neck and upper back massages, I've had her and my kids walk on my back, I've soaked in the bath, I've sat on the vibrating massage chair, I've put Icy Hot on it, Aroma Therapy Packs, Ice Packs, and taken Back-Aid (pain pill) and Tramadol. Nothing helps, and it's not feeling better.

I keep feeling like I slept completely wrong every night and I can't figure anything to help it feel better. I don't have money or insurance for a Chiropractor, which I'm sure is probably the best thing to do right now. Even if I COULD go see one, what can I do about the uncomfortableness during the work day? It's starting to make me less productive.

First, try changing your pillows. A pillow that is too flat or too high can cause persistent neck pain. That might be why the pain is not going away. I had this problem myself and it turned out to be my pillows.

Also, after changing your pillows, don't do anything else to your neck. I found that constant massaging and stretching mine only made worse. It will need a day or two after this for the tissues to get back to normal.
