what to do with my 1 month old between feeds?
so i decided to feed my daughter every 3 hours, during the whole month i'd be feeding whenever she cried and it was torture, she'd feed almost every 30 minutes, now, i decided to feed her for a whole hour and every 3 to 4 hours. now i fed her half an hour ago and now i dont know what to do with her, she cried a lot and putting her on the breast was the only way to quiet her down. i massaged her and changed her diaper, now i gave her the pacifier (which she keeps spitting it up) and and rocking her on her chair. i let her sleep? her next feed is in 2 and a half hour, which will be midnight in my country so hopefully we'll sleep after that.
I know its tough, but stick to your schedule. It will be tough for a while. If they snack every 30 minutes, they never get hungry enough to really fill up. If you wait it out, she will be good and hungry at the next feeding time. If she chooses not to eat efficiently at one meal, she will be miserable and hungry at the next feeding time. But that's how we learn, right?
I'm proud of you for scheduling your feedings. It is the most convenient and efficient way to breast feed, care for a household and family, and maintain your sanity, because lets face it - no one wants to be stuck to a baby 24 hours a day no matter how much we love them.
